We are children of Kenyan farmers striving to provide social equity in Kenyan coffee. Kenya remains a revered producer of excellent and outstanding specialty coffee. The coffee is a delight to many consumers worldwide. Unfortunately, the lack of genuine transparency and traceability of the coffee has greatly diminished direct economic benefit to the farmers and production continues to decline while the price skyrockets. Most have accepted the opaqueness as the norm; BUT We don’t. The disconnect benefits a few in our communities at the detriment of many. We know this isn’t right and we are taking a stand to correct it! and we sought to resolve when we came together as a team.
Our journey started in 2008, with a promise “if we can’t touch the farmer, we don’t touch the coffee”. This was a commitment to identify gaps in the coffee supply value chain, clear the disconnects and unleash its potential to create equity by connecting our producers directly to the market. We committed to work on a sourcing approach that creates relationships, transparency and traceability with tangible economic benefit to the Farmer and Roaster. We leveraged our Social capital and over 60 years of combined experience in the Kenyan coffee industry, our expertise extends from Soil to Cup, and we developed our innovative sourcing approach. Our approach circumnavigates the current archaic sourcing process associated with Kenyan coffee increasing value to our farmers, our communities and roasters. Our coffee is clearly unmatched in traceability, relationships and transparency, and We are making this is the New Normal.
